Mimics A Mother Hen
Warmth radiates down from the underside of the plate, just like the body heat of a broody hen, so your chicks can tuck in beneath it and feel settled the way nature intended.

Warmth radiates down from the underside of the plate, just like the body heat of a broody hen, so your chicks can tuck in beneath it and feel settled the way nature intended.
Your chicks decide for themselves, moving in close for warmth and stepping out when they have had enough. That natural back and forth supports steadier growth and calmer behaviour.
The legs set to several heights, so you can lift the plate week by week and keep gentle contact warmth at the right level all the way through early development.
There is no hot, exposed bulb and no harsh glare, so the everyday fire risk of a heat lamp is taken off the table and you can leave the brooder running with confidence.
At only 20W the plate sips power while holding a steady, reliable warmth, which keeps your brooder running costs low right through the season.
It is not just for chicks. Ducklings, quail and other small poultry brood happily under it too, so the plate earns its keep hatch after hatch.

Getting your heat plate ready is quick and tool-free. Set it up before your chicks arrive so the brooder is warm and waiting.
Place the heat plate in a dry, draft free brooder alongside bedding, feed and water.
Attach the legs and set the plate low so your chicks can lightly touch the underside. Plug it in and allow 10 to 15 minutes to heat up before use.
Watch your chicks. Huddling together means it is too cold, and avoiding the plate means it is too warm. Adjust the height until they settle, and leave cooler areas so they can self regulate.
Raise the plate regularly to maintain gentle contact as your chicks grow, and reduce use as they feather, at around 3 to 6 weeks. Keep it clean, dry and uncovered, and never cover the unit.
