Effective Mite Control
Exzolt is a highly effective treatment for poultry red mites, offering fast acting relief and over 99% efficacy.
Dosage and Administration
Standard dose: 0.05 mL of Exzolt per kilogram of body weight. Treatment frequency: Two doses, exactly 7 days apart. Administration route: Oral only. Do not apply topically or use as a drench.
1. Individual Treatment (Direct to Bird)
Ideal for small groups or mixed-sized flocks to ensure each bird receives the correct amount.
Measure 0.05 mL per kg body weight.
Dilute the measured dose in a small amount of clean water (approx. 1–2 mL).
Administer carefully into the side of the beak using a small syringe, or soak a small piece of bread with the diluted mix and feed directly.
Avoid force-drenching birds.
Repeat after 7 days to achieve full control.
2. Flock Treatment (Shared Drinking Water)
Suitable for treating groups of birds sharing a drinker.
Calculate the total live weight of the flock.
Multiply by 0.05 mL per kg to determine the total volume of Exzolt required.
Mix this into enough clean drinking water to be consumed within 4–12 hours (typically the morning’s water allocation).
Provide the medicated water as the first drink of the day.
Once consumed, refill drinkers with fresh water.
Repeat the same procedure 7 days later.
3. Larger Setups (Automatic Water Systems)
For larger or automated systems, Exzolt can be metered through the flock’s main water supply.
Treat early in the day to ensure full dose uptake.
Mix at a rate of 0.05 mL per kg body weight into the volume of water typically consumed over 4–6 hours.
Stir gently to avoid foaming.
Remove all other water sources during treatment.
Repeat 7 days later for complete control.
For best results, Exzolt should be used alongside thorough coop cleaning rather than as a stand-alone treatment. Remove and replace all bedding and nesting materials, wash and disinfect surfaces, and apply a suitable residual insecticide to roosts, nest boxes, and crevices where mites hide. Proper environmental treatment minimises reinfestation and supports long-term mite control without relying on the birds themselves to eliminate the parasites.
This information is provided for general guidance only and is not intended to replace professional veterinary advice. Always follow the manufacturer’s directions for use printed on the product label. Dosage rates and administration methods must be calculated according to the live body weight of the bird. If you are unsure of the correct treatment protocol for your flock, consult a qualified veterinarian or animal health professional before use.
Exzolt is registered for use in poultry under APVMA Approval No. 85688/113849.
Use only as directed. Store securely and keep out of reach of children and animals.
Active use: Controls poultry red mite (Dermanyssus gallinae) via oral administration. Form: Liquid concentrate for mixing into drinking water. Bottle sizes: 50 mL (standard) and 1 L (special order, contact Nesty Boxes for pricing).
APVMA Approval: 85688/113849.
Recommended Administration: Treatment is advised at least twice a year (early spring and late summer) to control poultry red mites (PRM).Mix the prescribed dose of Exzolt with clean water. The total water volume can be flexible but should match the flock's expected intake over 4-6 hours to ensure even dosing. Stir the solution gently to avoid foaming (similar to preventing excess foam in beer).
Rinse the Exzolt container twice with water to ensure no residue remains, and include the rinse water in the drink for full dosage delivery. Remove access to all other water sources during treatment. Keeping the flock confined to their coop or run may help.
Once the medicated water is consumed, replace it with fresh drinking water and restore access to alternative water sources.
The second treatment must be administered 7 days later to ensure full efficacy. For specific guidance on larger commercial flocks, refer to the Exzolt Administration Guide.
The dosage for Exzolt is approximately 0.05ml per kilogram of chicken body weight. For every 1kg of chicken, mix 0.05ml of Exzolt into 50ml to 100ml of fresh drinking water.

Great product that works
This is the only product that has worked for stick fast fleas at my place. I’ve been fighting a losing battle with free range chickens that have access to 51/2 acres. This product is the only one to finally provide relief and will now hopefully now help break the cycle. Off label spot on, topical treatments and sprays, pen and popular hang out treatments would give a few days to a week but this stops them for weeks on end. Worth every cent.
