    Why It Works

    Designed To DeliverReal Results

    Collect From Outside

    Collect From Outside

A lift up lid on the outside of the coop lets you gather eggs in seconds without stepping in, handy in the rain or before work, and with less disturbance to the flock.

    Frees Up Coop Space

    Frees Up Coop Space

Because the box hangs on the outside wall, it leaves the full coop floor for your hens to roost, scratch and move around, which suits busier flocks.

    Two Private Spaces

    Two Private Spaces

Two nesting spaces mean two hens can lay at the same time, so there is less waiting for a free nest and fewer eggs end up on the coop floor.

    Built To Last

    Built To Last

Built from zinc plated steel panels, dividers and roof, it shrugs off the weather and daily use out on the coop wall and holds its shape season after season.

    Helps Reduce Egg Eating

    Helps Reduce Egg Eating

Eggs roll out of reach into the tray the moment they are laid, so hens cannot peck, sit on or break them, one of the best ways to curb egg eating.

    Ventilated Trays

    Ventilated Trays

Vented trays keep air moving through each nest, so the space stays fresh and comfortable for laying.

    How To Install

    Up And RunningIn Minutes

Pick a quiet spot, mount it level, slot in the trays. Your hens will be laying in no time.

    1

    Pick The Spot

Choose a quiet, shaded corner inside the coop, away from the roost, so the box stays clean.

    2

    Mount And Level

Fix the box to a flat, strong, level surface and check it sits level so eggs roll cleanly every time.

    3

    Slot In The Rollaway Trays

Drop the detachable trays and liners into place. Eggs roll safely out of reach the moment they are laid.

    4

    Let The Hens Settle In

Add a clean liner and give your girls a day or two to claim it as their new favourite spot. If your flock struggle to lay after a week, add bedding and fake eggs to encourage laying.

    FAQs

    Your Questions,Answered

How many chickens does this nesting box suit?
This double nesting box is designed to accommodate up to 10 hens comfortably. For larger flocks, adding additional boxes is recommended to reduce crowding and egg damage.
Do I need to use bedding inside the nest box?
No bedding is required for the rollaway function to work properly. While bedding can improve comfort, it may prevent eggs from rolling cleanly into the collection tray.
How does the rollaway system work?
The nesting box has a sloped floor that allows eggs to gently roll into a separate compartment after being laid, keeping them clean, safe, and protected from pecking or breakage.
Is the nesting box easy to install?
Yes, it comes flat-packed with all required hardware and pre-cut mounting holes, making it straightforward to attach to the outside of your coop.
How do I clean the nesting box?
The box includes a removable plastic insert for easy cleaning. Simply wash with warm soapy water, dry thoroughly, and reassemble.
Why choose an external box over an internal one?
An external box mounts on the outside of the coop, so it frees up floor space inside for your hens. You collect eggs from outside through a lift up lid, which keeps the coop calmer and your hands cleaner, and means no stepping inside in wet weather. An internal box is the better pick if you cannot mount on an outside wall or prefer everything housed within the coop.
What is a rollaway nesting box?
A rollaway nesting box has a gently sloped, ventilated base instead of a flat bed of straw. The moment a hen lays, the egg rolls forward into a covered collection tray and out of her reach, which keeps eggs clean and unbroken and stops hens pecking or eating them. Because the egg needs a clear path to roll, rollaway boxes are used without loose bedding in the laying area.
How much do external nesting boxes cost?
Prices vary with size, material and design. Basic timber boxes are cheaper upfront, while steel rollaway boxes like this one cost a little more but last far longer and save you on broken and eaten eggs. You will find the current price for this double external box at the top of the page.

      External rollaway nesting box

Nesting box turned up quickly, works well and fairly easy to put together once I worked it out. Could do with a more detailed description on assembly, but eventually worked it out.

      Super easy assembly!

These are very straight forward to assemble and it's a huge upgrade from the containers we used to use. The hens started laying in it almost immediately.
