No, Nesty Calciboost is completely antibiotic and hormone free. It is also vegetarian only, Comprising of 33% Calcium and 2% Magnesium. Derived from calcareous marine algae.
When should I feed Nesty Calciboost?
If your hens are displaying any signs of a calcium deficiency, Nesty Calciboost is an excellent option to aid and treat your flock. Soft egg shells, poor growth and development in young birds, weak and fragile bones, and poor immune systems are all symptoms of a calcium deficiency.
Why should I feed Nesty Calciboost instead of simply feeding Shellgrit or providing in-water calcium supplements?
Nesty Calciboost is a highly available source of calcium comprising of 33% Calcium and 2% Magnesium. By mixing in your hens regular feed, you make calcium accessible and easy for consumption. Rather than tampering with your hens water or "hoping" that your hens will eat the shellgrit you left out for them, guarantee that they are consuming the supplement by using Nesty Calciboost and mixing in their feed. Its palatable and low dose formula makes it seamlessly blend in to any existing feed with zero adjustment period.
How long do I need to be feeding Calciboost before I see a result?
Time for results varies between flocks and severity of the calcium deficiency. We recommend feeding Nesty Calciboost for a minimum of 14 days to ensure that all hens have consumed an adequate amount of calcium. Can I feed Calciboost on its own?
No, Calciboost is designed to be mixed into your everyday chicken feed to supplement calcium deficiencies. It cannot be fed as chicken's sole diet nor can it be fed separately (not mixed in feed). Always mix Nesty Calciboost with your regular feed at 0.5% inclusion rate. Thus 100g Calciboost per 20kg feed.
What age can I start feeding Nesty Calciboost?
Nesty Calciboost can be fed to pullets 10 weeks and older as well as point of lay hens, 18 weeks and above. It should only be fed to pullets when a known calcium deficiency has been identified. Nesty Calciboost can be fed to laying hens once a month to prevent potential calcium deficiencies or to treat an existing calcium deficiency.
