Every species is certified Australian seed, selected and blended by agronomists to deliver real biological and structural benefits to your soil. Designed to support regenerative growing systems by boosting soil biology, improving nutrient cycling, and reducing fertiliser demand over time, making it a sustainable alternative to conventional inputs.
A Thriving Pollinator Habitat
Bee Haven contains a diverse mix of flowering species that provide nectar and pollen throughout the growing season, supporting bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects all year round. It improves soil structure, attracts pollinators, enhances biodiversity, and contributes to healthier, more productive gardens and pastures.
Sustainable Sowing Seeds
By increasing pollinator activity, Bee Haven indirectly improves fruit set, yield, and overall productivity in vegetables, berries, and orchard crops. A simple way to strengthen your entire garden ecosystem with one planting. The blend includes fast bloomers and late season flowers, ensuring a steady supply of nectar and pollen from early growth through to maturity. This supports healthy bee populations and encourages consistent pollination in surrounding gardens and orchards.
Because your garden
deserves better
A Pollinators Paradise
Bee Haven Seed grows a diverse mix of flowering plants that are attractive to bees and butterflies. The variety of species provides seasonal colour and interest, contributing to a lively garden or pasture environment. This sustainable and eco-conscious blend is suitable for sowing throughout the year and may encourage insect activity. Bee Haven is a great option for gardeners and hobby farmers looking to establish a vibrant and diverse planting area in pastures, gardens, or empty soil beds.
How to Grow:
Sow 10mm below the surface by scratching up the soil, using 25 to 40g per square metre. The optimal time to sow is in Autumn, or late spring. Warm temperatures and a wet soil bed will help this blend establish best.
Whilst this blend is designed to persist, we encourage you to water during dry spells and sow around the break of the season (Autumn).
Fertilise when sowing with high nitrogen and phosphorus based fertiliser. This will assist in early leaf development and root growth. Approximately 100g per square metre.
How to Mulch Bee Haven if the Planting Looks Fatigued
If your Bee Haven blend begins to look tired after a long flowering period, you can rejuvenate the bed by mulching the foliage back into the soil. This returns valuable organic matter and prepares the area for the next cycle of growth.
1. Cut the plants back to 10–15 cm above the soil
Use secateurs, shears, or a whipper-snipper. Cutting rather than pulling preserves root channels and soil structure.
2. Leave the cut material on the surface as mulch
Spread it evenly. This helps protect the soil, retain moisture, and feed microbes as it breaks down.
3. Water the mulch layer thoroughly
Moisture speeds decomposition and activates soil biology. Aim for a slow, deep soak.
4. Allow 2–3 weeks for breakdown
During this time the material will soften, settle, and begin feeding the soil. You’ll often see earthworms pulling it below the surface.
5. Option to resow or leave to regrow
-Resow if you want a fresh, dense flowering display.
- Let it regrow if some perennial species remain active (e.g., clovers, chicory, cocksfoot).
6. For faster recovery, top-dress lightly with compost before resowing
A thin layer (5–10 mm) boosts biological activity and supports germination.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this blend reduce the need for fertiliser?
Yes. By fixing nitrogen, recycling nutrients, and increasing organic matter, this sowing seeds mix lifts the natural fertility of your soil. Reducing dependence on external synthetic inputs over time.
Is this blend better for the environment than traditional fertilisers?
Yes. This blend supports regenerative farming principles by building soil, protecting biodiversity, reducing fertiliser demand, and improving nutrient cycling, all whilst using Australian certified seed.
What species are included and what do they do?
Bee Haven includes a mix of flowering broadleaf species, clovers, and structural plants: Phacelia, Buckwheat, Sunflowers: High-nectar flowers that attract bees and butterflies Crimson, Balansa, Red & White Clover: Long-blooming legumes that feed pollinators and fix nitrogen Chicory & Linseed: Deep-rooted plants that improve soil structure Tillage Radish & Leafy Turnip: Fast-establishers that open soil pathways and provide early cover Cocksfoot: Adds perennial structure and soil stability This diversity ensures staggered flowering and ecosystem support across the entire season.
Where can I sow Bee Haven?
Bee Haven thrives in: Backyard garden beds Orchard floors and understorey areas Pastures and grazing edges Empty or unused soil beds Road verges and nature strips (where permitted) Around veggie gardens to increase pollinator activity
What will Bee Haven look like when it grows?
Bee Haven grows into a colourful, varied, and seasonally changing display of flowers and foliage. Because it contains many species, the appearance shifts over time as different plants bloom. You’ll see a mix of heights, textures, and colours, the diversity is intentional, supporting pollinators across the entire season. It won’t be as uniform as turf or a single species flower bed, but it will be vibrant, lively, and full of ecological activity.
Is Bee Haven safe for pets and livestock?
Generally yes, especially once established. Some species (like clovers, chicory, brassicas) are common forage plants. As with any mixed planting, avoid overgrazing young establishing plants. For household pets, the blend is low risk when used as directed.
Why are some of the seeds brightly coloured?
Some seeds in this blend may appear brightly coloured because they have been coated or “prilled”. This coating can include beneficial materials such as trace elements, lime, or germination aids that help the seed establish more reliably in a range of soil conditions. In some cases, certain agricultural seed lines may also be treated with protectants such as fungicides or, less commonly, an insecticide treatment like Gaucho (Imidacloprid). These treatments are applied at extremely low rates and are designed to protect the seed during the vulnerable germination phase. By safeguarding early establishment, they reduce the need for additional chemical inputs later on, such as insecticides or fertilisers. These coatings do not affect the performance of the blend, the meadow effect, or pollinator benefits once the plants are established. They simply help ensure strong early growth and a more reliable, successful sowing.
